Why I built thinkingcashew
A JEE aspirant's honest take on what was broken in traditional prep — and how AI changes all of it.
The 30-minute doubt
Every evening looked the same: a phone cluttered with apps, a desk buried in books, and one ritual that drained hours — typing a single doubt into a generic chatbot. Ten minutes later, I was still editing the answer because it explained like an undergrad, not like a JEE topper. Multiply that by 8–10 doubts a day, and you've got a wall of friction between you and your next concept.
Ten tabs, no answers
Past papers in one place, an answer key in another, a formula sheet on someone's Drive, mock scores in a notebook, doubts in a queue at the coaching centre. Nothing talked to anything else. I could tell you what I had studied; I could not tell you what I was actually bad at — which is the only question that moves a rank.

Which syllabus does it follow?
The current NTA JEE Main 2026 syllabus across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Topic tagging and the weakness analyzer are aligned with the official chapter list.
Can I use it for JEE Advanced too?
Yes. The doubt solver handles Advanced-level questions, and the rank predictor uses Main data, but the underlying study habit — solve, log, fix weak chapters — works identically for Advanced prep.
How does the doubt solver work?
You type or upload a question. It is sent to a frontier LLM with a prompt tuned for JEE-style step-by-step solutions. The doubt is auto-tagged by subject and chapter so the weakness analyzer can use it later.
Are there daily caps on how much I can practise?
Not on practice. On the free Standard membership, PYQ, practice tests, mock score logs and competitions are all unlimited — sit as many papers a day as you want. The caps are on the AI: Ask Cashew is 10 questions a day, and mind maps and Rapid Prep guides are partly open. Gold removes every one of those caps.

Will my data be shared?
No. Your doubts, mock scores, and test history are stored against your own account and are never sold or shared. You can delete your account at any time.
How are the previous year questions (PYQ) different from other sites?
Most sites hand you a PDF of the paper and a separate PDF of the answer key. Here every one of the 7,000+ JEE Main and JEE Advanced previous year questions is interactive: you attempt it in the app, self-check instantly, and open a step-by-step worked solution only when you want it. Main is organised shift by shift and Advanced paper by paper, and new questions are added regularly.
What do the practice tests include?

Is the community forum safe?
